Comprehensive Academic Tool

Hey friends,

I find myself using many different tools for different tasks, but I would love to have one program that integrates all necessary tool for reading, thinking and writing. Is it far off to hope for RemNote to integrate all essential tools?

This is what I imagine:

For Reading:
pdf annotator for Stylus and Zotero reference manager.
a connection to hypothes.is

For Thinking:
a mapping and outlining tool like Cmap, Scapple or tinderbox 8

For Writing:
Apparently Zettlr is compatible to Obsidian, maybe it would be possible to make it compatible to RemNote?

What do people think about it?

RemNote can definitely serve as a single comprehensive tool to do your research, thinking and writing. For research / annotation of research articles, the new embedded pdf function is really useful — check out this great walkthrough describing one way to utilize it for academic papers. I’ve never used Zettlr, but basically all of its features should be available in RemNote. You can outline your text and then embed other notes / blocks of text inside it with portals.

Didn’t know about these tools. The main issue I see with them is that they look and feel like they’re made for Win98 :grinning:
