you can hit ctrl+z if you want to reverse it immediately. But if you realized it later on, you can click into the reference to open it as a document. Then click the … at the top right and delete the document from there
Is there a way to remove the reference link without deleting the word (or as you described, the document)? So that the word remains in the rem, but the reference is removed.
@edhowe Sadly, not at the moment. The second you turn it into a reference, that word exists as the contents of a different rem, which is linked where that word was. You may be interested in this feature request. Convert reference to plain text
