Automatically queue Children of tagged Parent Rem

Hi RemNote team,

There is a feature I am looking for that I cannot find, and if it does not exist I would love to have it as a Lab option. It has to do with studying flashcards from tags. The summary is that I want to have all the children of a parent Rem that with a specific tag to also be associated with that tag be queued for study without having to tag each of the children with that specific tag too.

Here’s a little background about me and my (desired) workflow. I am a PA student in my clinical year. My current setup for studying in RemNote is creating folders for pathologies and treatments of different systems in the body (eg, Cardiovascular, Pulmonary, Endocrinology, etc). However, not every system fits neatly into each clinical specialty (eg, Family Medicine, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Reproductive, etc). Add to that I am now trying to prepare for my next rotation General Surgery, in which they gave me some specific conditions to review before I arrive. I have tagged the Parent Rems (ie, conditions) as #Focus. However, when I filter by that tag for studying the associated flashcards, my queue is empty. I discovered that I need to tag each Child Rem with #Focus in order to study those flashcards via a filtered list.

This is a tedious process. And this will become more difficult as I transition from studying the #Focus cards to the #Surgery conditions I need to know for my end of rotation exam.

As such, I would love to take a Parent Rem and have all its associated children that have associated flashcards show up in the study queue when I filter by tags.

I hope this all makes sense. Please let me know if this is not clear.

Thank you for the work you’ve done. RemNote is a beautiful application and as I become more comfortable in using it I see its powerful utility.

You can create a new rem and insert portals to any other rem you wish to study (unfold them as needed), then practice the new rem’s queue.
