Can't delete Portals

Alright, the issue is now solved. Thanks again @Karthikk for the great help.

In case someone with a similar problem finds this, the solution was quite simple.

As a brief summary:

  • There where multiple search portals inside document A pointing to document B
  • A rems appeared in the document queue of B
  • Deletion of those portals did not work

To fix it, the referenced document B was newly created as e.g. B_new and the content of B was transfered to B_new by cut & paste. Now B was deleted and after that the portals could be successfully removed.

Portals gone, queue clean, everything is fine again :ok_hand:

To clarify the terminology even more: The thing you are calling “closed search portal” is a Search Portal Stub (not to be confused with the completely independent #Stub tag of course but named after the same principle of not being filled with content yet).

In that sense a search portal stub is not a search portal (yet) or even a rem for that matter and therefore does not add cards to a queue or can be shown by expanding all children of a rem (in a “zoomed out state”).

A search portal stub is just a little helper button shown below a page (= “zoomed in rem”) with backlinks that lets you comfortably add a search portal with those backlinks to the page which you could also create manually just as easily.
