I created a new document today and obviously it’s tagged to today’s Daily Document. Is it possible to change this tag to a different Daily Document?
Hi Cokimon,
I’m not sure I understand your question fully. I think you want to create a Daily Document for a different date.
If you generate a Daily Document it will be created with today’s date as the heading. You can place a different date (or any information) as the heading by re-typing the heading, but that won’t automatically change the order of that document if its date changes.
In order to generate a Daily Document for the right date which will be inserted into its rightful place in your list of Daily Documents (ie. in date order), do this:
- Generate a Daily Document today (or go into any other Daily Document)
- Press forward slash (/) to bring up the menu, and select Insert, then select Search for Date.
- Use the calendar to select the date that you want to generate the Daily Document for, and select that date.
An entry for that date will be inserted in the current Daily Document you are in.
You should also notice that a new Daily Document will also be generated for that date, and it will appear in date order in your Daily Document list on the left of your screen.
If you now go to today’s Daily Document and delete the date that you inserted into that document, you will still keep the new Daily Document generated for that date.
I hope that makes sense and I hope that answers your question.
Hi ChristinaOz,
Thank you for replying.
If you look at the attached snippet of a Daily Document, it lists all the documents created on Jan 14. However, if want to relink one of documents say 'Whipple disease" to Jan 13, is that possible?
It might depend on whether you just want the information for Whipple disease to appear in the Jan 13 document, or in both Jan 13 and Jan 14 documents, as to what you do.
A complicating factor is that portals used to be a method of viewing the same piece of information in two places. Be aware though if you alter the information in one document, it will also be altered in the other document. I have only experimented with portals casually and not since the last update, so I’m not an expert on how they work, but they might be something to explore if you want access to the one piece of information from both documents.
Otherwise, once you have created the Jan 13 daily document, you can cut and paste the information from Jan 14 to Jan 13.
I hope a combination of those moves should give you the effect you want. Good luck!
