Copy of universal descriptors in the tutorial

Hi everyone

I recently read about the universal descriptors and the interest in using them. I therefore copied them to my knowledge base.
I understand that I can create my own ones and as I am French ,need french ones. They are rems like any other rems. So far so good. But then I noticed in the examples of universal descriptors provided in the tutorial that some of them are power-up rems. Do they have special characteristics that differentiate them from the non-power-up ones. If yes , what are the differences and if there are differences , how do I reproduce them when I create my own universal descriptors?
Many thanks
Vincent

Hi Vincent,

Universal Descriptors and Descriptors serve the same purpose: to flesh out concepts. The two differ as:

Ds are created on the fly specific to a concept—with no way to see them later. On the contrary, UDs exist first and become references that can be clicked to see past uses.

To clarify, while some may be powered-up, like with a ‘Power-Up ToDo’ to grant a checkbox, these are additions and are optional. In short, UDs are not Power-ups, but they can have Power-ups.

If you want to add one to a UD, at the end of the UD type “##” and select your Power-Up. I’d recommend this tutorial to learn more about Power-Ups: RemNote Tutorial #18: Power-Ups.

Ok thank you very much for your help.
