Delete empty points, auto detect cloze, edit images

I’d like to see 3 features added

  1. Automatically delete empty rem bullet points
Sometimes bullet points are created by accident which might make the document appear less organized with no added benefit. It would be nice to have these empty points deleted automatically or not allowing a point to be created unless some content is added adding.

  2. Automatically detect text in image occlusion clozes
Creating image occlusions can be time-consuming, especially for images that have a large number of details (e.g. anatomy pictures). It would be helpful if you could add the feature to automatically detect text in images so occlusion rectangle can be generated automatically and then the user can select which rectangles to keep or remove.

  3. Image editing
I would like to see the ability to edit images within Remnote. It does not have to be any more complex than simple functions like cropping, rotation, annotation, etc.

Agree with 1, and would also like 3.

2 seems cool, but very specific (maybe can be created as a plugin as the API becomes more open).

Suggestion: the way this forum works, it makes more sense to add each suggestion/request as a separate post, so it’s easier for other users to vote/comment (and for the devs to find/identify stuff).

I think that having the possibility to have some empty space is a good thing. Documents without any space in them easily begins to look overwhelming otherwise.

Sometimes they do get created by accident, and even though that might cause some extra work deleting them I wouldn’t want to be without the possibility to add empty space.

Hi

I agree that the 2nd point is specific but I see it as the natural next step for image clozes. I can barely think of a use case that doesn’t include text pointing to parts of images, such as explanatory diagrams or even flowcharts. It can be time-consuming to draw and fit the dimensions of rectangles around words especially when there are many of them and it starts to clutter.

Regarding your suggestion… I’m not sure I understood it :frowning:

Your point is sound, but I would rather have a systemic way for intentionally adding empty spaces. This would be a nice middle ground

I meant if you post 1 feature request per post (instead of 3 in one post, like you did), it’s easier for people to vote/comment on each individual one (and clearer for devs to make sense of them)

Just a suggestion! Of course you can post however you want.

Sorry if I didn’t explain it properly

Yeah, the empty Rems happens a lot. It’s annoying. I have 472 top level untitled Rems. Need a feature to bulk remove.
