currently, we can export the note document, but the pdf itself and highlight cannot be exported. if i export note from local base to cloud, i can get a document without pdf attachment, then i upload the same pdf file to this document. In this way, I can get to the exact location of my notes on the pdf by click my note, but all highlights are gone, I mean the color.
(if we upload a pdf, we will get 2 documents, one is the note documents where we drop pins and idea, the other is te pdf docment taht will recored the highlights. Here I mean the pdf document with original highlight cannot be exported.)
I think remnote is recording a location on pdf as a highlight, since i can relocated to the same page, it seem not to hard to re-add the highlight to the pdf. Hope the team will consider to add this feature.
The reason i ask for this feature is because sometime I need to read some big pdf(100-300mb), it is really slow to upload them or open them on web, also sometimes i have no access to the internet. I think I can annotate big pdf on local base them export them to the cloud if they can be exported.
I would suggest the same thing.
Just a question: by “exporting” you mean the “sharing” feature, or there is a way of “exporting” directly to other RemNote users, without using “sharing”?
I tried to share a document with attached PDF. The PDF itself was not shared, just the related document with the highlight texts. But even adding the same PDF the person to whom I shared was not able to see the location of these highlights in the PDF. There was no relation anymore between the highlights and pins he had and the PDF file itself.
It would be very desirable that this sharing could be improved, so that the PDF file itself, the highlights and the location of highlights on the PDF could all be shared, and the person to whom the sharing is made were able to use RemNote exactly as if he/she had done the document himself/herself.
