I could neither find nor come up with a workflow that seamlessly integrates the PDF annotation feature, primarily due to its rushed implementation.
Here are some of my feature requests:
-
When adding a PDF to a source, make the REM as its parent instead of creating another REM. This should prevent the confusion of where the highlights are placed and necessary documents, covering up the front section.
-
Keyboard shortcut for switching. Not all of the information is found within the source text. Sometimes, we have to quickly append from missing sources to paint a fuller picture of the idea that we’re learning. Having a keyboard shortcut makes that easier than having to click the button on the popup.
-
Allow for a drag and drop upload of PDF upload. This is a game-changer, especially when you’re doing research, for going through hundreds of literature.
-
Allow for a video upload. This is a must for students. During the pandemic, many of the lessons have shifted to online, downloadable, recorded videos. Having the ability to watch, track, and annotate the lectures is a welcomed addition.
-
Ability to have a separate highlight view on one pane and another PDF view on a another.
