When I highlight some text in a pdf, it is missing some characters or adding some characters which makes it nearly useless to take notes
Do you get the same broken text if you open it in a regular pdf reader and copy that part of text? If that is the case then it is not RemNote’s fault, but that the text layer of the pdf itself is just that way. This can happen when the pdf was OCRed or something.
I don’t think we can do much about it. You could theoretically compare the text against a dictionary and if it does not contain c

you could remove the space, but this can obviously fail (ode actually is a word) and you also would need to know the language of the pdf and have good dictionaries for all languages.

Also note that you can manually correct the reference/text in the highlights page of the pdf.
I would ignore the glitches while reading the pdf and then go trough all highlights after I finished reading.
