How can you make a document stay filtered indefinitely?

When I apply a filter to a document the filter is always reset each time I reload the page. Is there a way to keep the filter set indefinitely? Thank you.

Why not use a search portal?

I think the search portal as mentioned is your best option until queries are a reality
