How to insert hierarchical numbering list without any hassle?

I want to create a hierarchical numbering list such as “1.1” “1.1.1” “1.1.2”.

In RemNote, hitting 1 and fullstop will automatically create a numbering list.

And every time I want to add third hierarcy number such as “1.2.3” the number 2 will disappear when I hit the fullstop key. I don’t even have a chance to hit number 3.

What I need to do is type “1” and then hit space, then hit fullstop and then hit another number and lastly I need to delete the space I’ve made just now. It is so much hassle to do this in every line. Do you have any idea, work around or plugin to make this hierarchical numbering easier?

I don’t know how to solve ur problem. Maybe someone with coding skills can help you. But I just wanted to add that also “1.a” “1.b” “1.c” etc. would also be useful when referencing various sources or using multiple examples or studies. Hopefully, the future of Rem will hold this feature for us.

Yeah. I feel useless because I know nothing about coding and everything related to it. Since I am used to that kind of hierarchical numbering, it is easier for me to type 1.1 rather than 1.a… Anyway thanks for the suggestion.

RemNote should add this hierarchical numbering since RN is a note taking app that use hierarchical system.
