How to stop the concept/descriptor automatic changes?

Hi, there.

I don’t really care about the concept/descriptor framework, since I don’t use the SRS side of Remnote. However, I use the separator :: as a way to manage the references. There are some concepts that I would prefer to be shown with initial lowercase, but when I change the case it changes the type into descriptors. This also happens when, after turning them into concepts, I introduce the :: (it turns them back to descriptors). Is there a way to stop this from happening?

Thanks!

On any Rem you can change the Rem type on the bottom toolbar. If you want to make it a free formatting document, use “text” and the concept/descriptor will be ignored.

Hi, Matty, thanks for your answer!

I would like to make it stop changing them (from concept to descriptor) automatically altogether, so I don’t have to do it manually every time I create a concept.

And for the text option (which I would have to change manually also, I guess), it is not appearing for me, no idea why:

Anyway, congrats on the update, thanks for the hard work and wish you all the best for this year

@Dante_Gaxiola Regarding Rem Type: “Text” - I also don’t have the “Text” option under Rem Type, but you can type /plain on the rem to switch it to plain text.

Thanks, @edhowe, that seems to work, but I don’t really use it. My problem is that the rem turns automatically into descriptors when I type the :: if they start with lowercase. I can transform them into concepts with ctrl + alt + c, and it doesn’t seem to be a shortcut for plain text, which could be useful, but it leaves the italics anyway instead of the bolding (which is my real problem, hahaha). I’m thinking I could change the descriptor style to be the same as concepts and solve the aesthetic issue, although it would affect every descriptor. Anyway, for the meantime I will transform them manually into concepts.
