Is it possible to create a custom formatting for a part of a rem?

I’m thinking via a marker like:
this is an +important idea+ of this paper
and have important idea being formatted in a way that I define via custom CSS (with red police, and grey background, in bold or something)

I’m a total noob in CSS, please forgive me if the answer to this question is obvious.

You could repurpose any of the existing highlight colours to instead apply any valid formatting. Here’s an example that just rounds them

Thank you for your answer

I think that means, it is not possible to create markers out of nowhere in remnote…
Why not? Is this a CSS restriction or a remnote restriction, just curious

I’m afraid I don’t know enough about either CSS or RemNote’s internals to give an authoritative answer. My gut feeling is that since CSS is, by design, intended to manipulate appearance rather than functionality (though there are some pretty expansive userstyles for some websites), you’d have to at least write a plugin rather than just a Custom CSS snippet.

Thank you very much for your answer.
How do you think I could go to have an answer from the team? the ? icon?

Try asking in Discord server’s Plugin and/or CSS channels first.
