Is it possible to pick a date in the past?

Hey guys,

i am learning RemNote at the moment. I really like it, but I hope it will be easier in future with more and more updates.

How can I choose the date, for example 1966-12-02 without investing 15 minutes of time?

Hope there is a solution!?

Yes, you can do it with shortcut “!!” before the date.
Anyway, it’s depend on your date setting i.e., if you setting date as “yyyy-mm-dd” like “1966-12-02” you can type “!!1966-12-02” it will locate the date for you.
But if your setting like “Month day, Year” (August 7th, 2021) you need to format the same way like “!!December 2nd, 1966

To setting the showing date can go in settings menu → Editor Options → Dates and Times → Date Formatting

Hey norden,

thank you very much! This is really nice!

Hi !
I wish to dig up this question again, I use the “dddd D/MM/YYYY” like “Wednesday 29/09/2021” formatting to display dates but if I want to select a date somehow far in the past or in the future, I cannot guess the weekday on that day, so I’d need to look it up. I know I could just change the formatting but I really like displaying the weekday so that is not really an option for me.

I wish there was the popup when typing “!!” would allow for typing inside of it, to look for any day, month, year.

As I know you can type some keyword after “!!”. Let’s say you want to find a day from the past 2 weeks so, type “!!past 2 weeks” and you’ll get the result.

For now, most keyword is use is !!tomorrow, !!yesterday, !!next month, !!next year, !!last month. So, try it out this is really intuitive way to use and I hope these answer your question.

Also, if you want to custom more date and time format you can check Moment.js | Docs (momentjs.com) I just found this after try to change the date format.

Thank you !
I am aware of these shortcuts, which are great, but they are still not so convenient to select a day decades in the past or in the future, maybe this could be a feature request if there is enough people interested I wonder.
