Is there a way to change this template behavior?

Hi, I’m an logseq user and recently discovered RemNote. It has better flashcard possibilities, an important function to me. Therefore, a simpler template approach would be great. logseq is on average easier to use, honestly.

Creation and implementation of templates in logseq are easy. In RemNote I have some problems with the reference chain. When I implement a template, the slot text is referenced instead of origin rem. Is there a way to change this behavior? Images can explain this in a better way.

  1. I create a Book template by adding some custom universal descriptors.

  2. The template is implemented in this example, but properties reference the slot text. It would be more useful to reference the origin rem (the universal descriptor) to see in a glance the year publication of other books, for instance.

Thank you very much.

To answer your title question, no, an added slot is always a reference to whatever is in the original slot rem. However, this also means that slots have separate backlink counters/portals that may be perused to see all the values of just that slot. If you want to see the slot’s backlinks inside the rem you put in as a reference in the original slot, you can tag the original slot-with-the-reference with the rem that is a reference. You can then use the referenced rem’s backlink portals to view references to it directly as well as to anything that is tagged with it - this is called transitive tags.

As an aside, you may want to change/update the data on GTD to use the date of the revised edition (that contains a chapter with actual scientific underpinnings), which is 2015.

Thank you very much, I will try that. However, I still think that RemNote needs a more user-friendly template system.
