I’m exploring RemNote and I didn’t understand this:
To create a reference to a new Rem I have to write [[Name and Ctrl+enter. Where is the new Rem located? I can’t see it in any path.
It is created top level meaning is has no parent.
It is also tagged with #Stub
so you can find it again later.
I open this page from time to time, check the search portal on the bottom and either make new stubs a document or insert them somewhere in the hierarchy.
Thanks! So you have to manually organize them later, right?
@desk7 You can organize them later. Or you just leave them top level. Or you create them where you want them in the hierarchy in the first place using hierarchical search.
You can also just remove the stub tag if you intend to let them be top level. Probably best to have some way to get to them other than fulltext search, be it backlinks or emoji in rem body.
[[ is for linking a rem. Not creating one.
Your question is great because it touches on one of the main ideas (advantages) behind a non-linear system like RemNote. It’s not chapters in a book or files in a folder. It’s a bunch of interconnected pieces of information (atoms).
So, as others already explain, when creating a top level Rem, its helpful to always create some connection that you can find later (if what the #stub tag’s there for).
