macOS desktop app after update 1.8 "Cannot access local database. Automatically restarting."

I have a problem with the macOS desktop app as shown in the screenshot.
When I open the app this screen shows up and after a few seconds of loading the message in the top right corner occurs. Then the app restarts automatically. Then follows the same procedure …

Try using the web version for now. Once that syncs, back up your local knowledge base(s) and redownload the desktop app. If the issue persists, please contact support using the “Contact Support” button accessible from the ? button in the lower right of the app.
