My thesis is deleted!

Hello,

I’ve been using Remnote as a free user for two months now to write my thesis. It has just been deleted because I pressed the “back” arrow. How can I do ? There is all my work on it.

When I click on the link displayed in my history, it is only written “document deleted”. I can’t find anything in the trash either.

Please help me.

Yours truly,

I’m pretty certain that pressing the back button did not delete anything. More likely you triggered a display bug, possibly having to do with the Windowed Panes feature (maybe not if you are on a free account though).

Here are some steps to trouble shoot:

  • If you are on the desktop app there should be daily backups in your home directory/remnote, check that.
  • Use Ctrl + P and search for some content you remember having written and check if it’s still there.
  • Export/Backup your knowledge base in Settings > Account > Export and Backup. Do a JSON backup now just in case (and regularly in general if you write something important). You can also try a human readable markdown Export and look at it to see everything in you kb (there are some reports about it being buggy, don’t panic if it does not work for you the first time, it does not necessarily mean you lost anything).
  • If you don’t find anything open a support ticket for an account specific issue through the question mark menu at the bottom left.

Thank you very much for your response.
I have tried your different solutions and unfortunately it doesn’t work. I have sent a support ticket.
I just hope that this document can be found by their services despite the fact that I was not registered. The only trace I keep of my work are the html links in my history, which display “document deleted” when I click on them.

I hope so much that I will find it again.

Thanks a lot anyway
