PDF Clip into Automatic Flashcard - any ideas?

Hi everyone! I’m wondering if anyone has figured out a way to turn a PDF ‘clip’ automatically into an image card or flashcard? My use case would be to have my lecture slides imported as a PDF and then clip relevant images into flashcards as I go through the lecture. Right now, I need to copy and paste the PDF clip into my document and then edit it into a card which disrupts my workflow. Any ideas? Am I using the PDF functions incorrectly?

What would you like the prompt of the flashcard to be here? Were you imagining something like the surrounding context in the PDF?

In general, spaced repetition prompts are most effective if 1) you understand the idea at a baseline level when starting (learn before memorize), and 2)you they connect with the way that you think about the idea, so our UI tries to encourage you to make your own flashcards.

One possibly easier flow here would be to make highlights first, then click the “sticky note” icon in the top left of the PDF viewer to open up the highlight editor, and then make clozes or flashcards from there?

My use-case would be for lecture PDF slides where I want to clip an image or diagram (for example pathophysiology or a histology slide) that I want immediately turned into a card. It’s not really content that requires baseline learning for me, but more-so visual repetition. Is that possible?

A follow up to your suggestion re: sticky note icon to open up in the highlight editor. For some reason when I use this approach and highlight an image to then add clozes to, the image doesn’t appear. I am able to open the content in the highlight editor, but when I go to create clozes, only the boxes appear on a black screen. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?
