Practice flash cards in random order

Currently, it’s impossible to practice flash cards in random order. It’s good if there is a option to do so.

The reason rems are clustered

I believe people often make many rems on the same topic, hence, flash cards for the same topic tend to be clustered. This can’t be prevented by turning off rem clusters options in the “Ordering” section in the settings.

The solution

I guess the scheduler algorithm don’t need to be changed if there is a option that cards in the queue show up randomly regardless of the order (their target date?).

I’m getting flashcards in ordered predictable sequences. This is not ideal. Is there a way to randomize them? I’m aware that a certain batch of cards will be displayed on a given day based on when they were last studied. I’m looking to randomize the cards displayed in one day’s batch.

It should be random if you deselect all cluster options:

Can you confirm that it is still not random without these options? It might be a bug then.

Thank you for the quick response! I should have found that setting on my own. Hopefully that will eliminate the problem.

Got the same issue and turning off all the clusters didn‘t change anything. Either these setting options don‘t work or the random ordering is not very random

One of the newer updates added a fourth cluster option so that you can have a completely random queue by turning all 4 of them off.

Previously that missing cluster lead to a not completely random queue, especially if you didn‘t indent a lot
