RemNote clipper does not load in sidebar

I’m able to create a new note using the “Add note” button on the extension, and this creates a new document - as expected. But when I try to open a document in the sidebar using the “Open document” button, the doc refuses to load. The pane itself opens but RemNote does not load.

I’ve tried signing back in etc but nothing seems to work. Is anybody else facing this issue?

Did you ever get this resolved? I am having the same issue. I also tried using the highlight/add method and while it does a little animation that makes it look like it copied the highlight into the document, it doesn’t really add it (when I go into Remnote itself, the document is blank except of what I did using the Add note button).

Strange -

  1. Are you signed into RemNote?
  2. Does this happen on all web pages, or only some?

The problem seems to occur for some specific browsers. For example, Chrome works fine with the clipper, but the new Microsoft Edge and Brave browsers seem to run into the same issue of not being able to load RemNote in the sidebar. I’ve tried disabling all extensions etc but nothing seems to work for them - a pity because my default browser is Edge as it’s not a RAM hog like Chrome.

Didn’t resolve it, just found a workaround - I think changing browsers may help. Chrome works well with the clipper for me, but Edge and Brave posed problems, regardless of what I did. But I don’t want to migrate from Edge to Chrome, so this trade-off is still painful for me.

Same here. I’ve been using Brave and that’s where I have the problems. When trying it on Vivaldi, it works just fine.

I found a workaround: You have to disable “Cross-site cookies blocked” in your Brave shield settings. For some reason, that was preventing the extension from accessing localStorage.
It’s inconvenient, but it works

I had the same problem in chrome but instead of disabling blocking of third party cookies, I added www.remnote.io to the list of sites that always can use cookies (on the same page in the chrome cookies settings).
