Hey,
I added a search portal and i think its kind of searching for the document itself and kind of creating a loop, which is slowing the whole remnote site down/crashing so i cant edit it either.
Anyway i can remove the search now?
Just delete the search portal. Click on the top border, and hit Delete
.
Thanks for your reply! The problem is i cant edit it cause it crashes before. I tried delete it but it just got worse. Now it crashes even faster. I tried going offline and maybe ending the search that way and then reconnecting but that doesnt seem to work either.
I need someway to get to the portal and delete it without the search triggering and making any editing impossible.
Are you able to select these portals and delete them with the Backspace key as you would with a set of regular rems?
You can select the first portal by clicking on its top border and then hit Shift + â to select the portals below the first one and then hit the Backspace key.
Thanks for your help. Unfortunately I cant. As soon as i open the document it gets uneditable nearly immediatly. The Browser (tried Firefox and Chrome) then tells me âA tab is slowing your computer downâ and i can either wait or stop the site which both doesnt help.
Maybe itâs possible to export to some format (json?), edit what you need, then reimport?
But check with the devs first.
Understood. I faced this issue myself a couple of months ago. Hereâs a workaround you can try that does not involve opening the document at all:
-
If this document (Iâm going to name it âMuscles of Lower Extremityâ as I see some familiar content in your screenshots ) is within a folder (e.g. Muscles), try to view it as a child of the folder.
It should look something like this: -
Click âX hidden pieces of textâ
-
Click âAdd All Rem To This Documentâ
-
Move these rems anywhere else (this would leave the search portals in the âMuscles of Lower Extremityâ document)
-
Delete the document containing the search portals as you see them in the screenshot above, i.e. without zooming into it.
After this, you can simply create a fresh document and move those child rems to it.

Thanks you very much that finally worked for me
Here the view in which I was able to delete the portal without getting slowed down/crashing.
Youâre welcome! Happy note-making
I genuinely think that this is a Brilliant idea. Party poppers for Anisha!
