I have been experimenting with shorter intervals and algorithms. I already have a ton of experience in SuperMemo 18 and SR in general.
Lately, I have noticed a ‘cluster’ effect while doing some test reps on another website; to make it as simple as possible to understand, if you have ten items in your queue, but you keep getting the first five wrong, you will not proceed to the sixth. In this way, you will be able not to overload your working memory.
There is a reason why people in memory competitions use chunks no greater than 5 items at a time: it becomes too hard to remember something. I encourage sceptics to do this on paper. Try to learn ten new flashcards you found extremely challenging, capping the maximum flashcards at one time to 4 or 5. It’s a simple and neat trick, but having an active queue this big on RemNote would be a game-changer, in my opinion. It could be a simple button with written “Hardcore Reps” where you can decide how big your active queue (items you are cycling through when you get all of them wrong) can be between 3-6.
I hope this does not go unnoticed. If someone is using RemNote to learn large amounts of information, it would probably cut down the time exponentially. The greater the queue, the greater the effect of clustering your reviews.
