Has anybody else experienced this since the update? I have stopped studying because it seems like nothing will be synced/saved (I could be wrong). Do I need to wait a period of time before I resume studying?

Yes same here! I solved the issue by importing one of my daily json backups. I then just put them all in a folder and reviewed those instead of the broken rem
