Currently the available scheduler types are “Default” and “Anki SM-2”.
If the scheduler type is changed, will my cards schedule be reset or coverted nicely to the new algorithm while keeping their previous information?
I have used “Default” for several months and then changed it to “Anki SM-2” few weeks after it got released. The schedule of existing cards were not reset. I have been using “Anki SM-2” for around 2 months now. No noticeable issues so far.
Just to avoid surprises, you can make this change at a small document level and see how it goes. If satisfied, then apply it globally.
That’s good idea to test it in a small document. Thanks you for your kind response.
does only selecting the anki-sm2 scheduler type change the algorithm immediately or do I have to create a new scheduler? asking because theres no confirmation prompt.
and just to make sure, the global default scheduler applies to complete knowlege base?
@Subham_Mohanty I didn’t create a new scheduler. I just changed it to ‘Anki SM-2’.
And yes, global default scheduler is applied to the entire KB. You can verify it by checking the initial intervals of new cards. Default
has longer intervals during the first few reviews (that is the part I don’t like about default)
I changed to Anki-SM2 scheduler and found some serious issues, yet unsolved (intervals getting much longer than they should).
I reported them in Messed scheduling (Anki SM-2 type)! Solve this urgently, please! · Issue #639 · remnoteio/remnote-issues · GitHub.
same reason I am changing to anki sm-2. Thanks.
