RemNote because Obsidian doesn’t have built-in SRS, a WYSIWYG editor and not really built around learning philosophy ( but I think it can be tailored for learning to an extent enough to replace RemNote)
In Obsidian, since I see all the metadata while taking notes the whole experience is meh ( too much clutter on the screen). Obsidian will implement WYSIWIG editor, but I really don’t know if they are going to do SRS. Also, I am not paying that much for Roam ($15/month? not sure what they are smoking) when there is Remnote and Obsidian.
In RemNote, search portals are unique and useful. Templates are fancy, probably essential for students, and may become crucial when they implement native table support. Portals can be useful, but I don’t use them because I think they are kinda bloated. Also, for some reason, I like the over all note taking experience in RemNote (other than the issues due to various bugs). Above all, I chose RemNote for its learning centered philosophy. To give few examples, there is a reason why RemNote shows hierarchy in flashcards, there is a reason why they thought about universal descriptors and implemented it, there is a reason behind templates, concept-descriptor framework (I like it for the learning process, but not necessarily as a note take style).
